Composite Bonding

What is Composite Bonding?

Composite bonding, otherwise known as composite restoration or composite build-ups, is a great way to improve the aesthetic appearance of a smile. Whether it’s to change the shape, colour, size or straightness of teeth – our team can provide patients with a solution to achieve the smile of their dreams. Composite bonding can also be used as a treatment to repair chipped or broken teeth that may have been caused by trauma or injury.

What is Involved in the Treatment?

Made from a tooth coloured resin mix, the composite is bonded to the surface of the natural tooth to achieve the desired result. It can be shaped or contoured to match the surrounding teeth. Patients might want their teeth whitened as well, if this is the case, they are whitened and the colour of the composite is matched in order to create a virtually indistinguishable finish. Due to composite bonding being a minimally invasive treatment, it’s becoming increasingly popular among nervous patients as no drilling, needles or anesthetic is required.

Treatment Options

Our experts here at Quality Dental Care will gain an understanding of the patient’s vision before recommending the appropriate treatments. There may be alternatives to composite bonding, such as veneers or direct porcelain onlays, depending on each individual’s needs. Bonding can also be used in conjunction with other additional treatments, such as whitening or Invisalign®, to help achieve the desired result.

What Next?

Due to each patient’s needs being unique, a consultation with one of our dentists is necessary to identify the treatment that is most suitable. Our team will create a bespoke treatment plan, outlining all of the costs to put the patient in control of their treatment choices. We will also outline all of the payment options available, such as finance options to spread the cost of treatment or monthly plans to cover the cost of routine dental care.
